Sports Fan Podcasts is an large website when it goes about sports podcasting. With over 140 sports teams available to be podcasted the site is huge and a great place for sports fans to join in. However, the web is not only about podcasting anymore and the time has changed the way how we spend our time on the web. Sports Fan Podcasts is going to adjust to that by changing the way how it works.

Sports Fan Podcasts is currently podcast orientated. This means we put focus on the podcasts people have send. However, we wanted to give the submitter some more creditibility for their work, and we do that by bringing some social experience to our site.

The new Sports Fan Podcasts that is expected to be released this summer is going to focus on you, and not just you who sends podcasts. We give you the visitor the oppertunity to join in and talk about your favorite sports team the way you want. You can podcast, you can send a small message, or start your own blog about your favorite team or sport. And no longer you need to visit the site by an internet browser on your computer. We will bring Sports Fan Podcasts to your mobile phone!

So let’s show you a bit of our previews and the functionality shown.

Team page:

We want you to join, to make that happen we explain why people need to join in a big banner on top of our screen. Below that, we show a nice cleaned up navigation that can expend itself when you select team news for example. No longer we put interesting links in a hidden box on the left, and some on the top, and some at the bottom. We show all the links you need in just one place, in just one bar.

You, the submitter that sends podcasts, messages and blog posts get the focus you need. With your avater and name visitors will know you, not only SFP. With more space in a cleaned up way about your submission you got all the place you need to share the thing you like.

However, we also allow you to know who are the submitters to the current sports team, and who is following this team. You probably have a friend who is interested to know whats up with the New York Yankees and the White Sox. Once our new site is released you will be able to know the things you want to know about this team, the people who submits to that team, and the people who are interested in that team.

Besides following the team, we also allow you to follower specific submittors, you are in control over the information you are interested in. Your no longer stuck to just one team or one location, you can go anywhere and do what you like.

New profile pages

Like mentioned before, we make you important. So from the day we launch our new site, you get your own personal page on Sports Fan Podcasts with your bio, submission info, and interests. If people aren’t really interested in a team, but are interested in you, they simply can follow your profile page and know about everything you submit without visiting all our teams to find out. With a nice large picture on the left, biography info in the middle, and just little info about Sports Fan Podcasts, you have a place to share to people without making commercial about our service.

Wrap up
So lot’s of things are going to change to Sports Fan Podcasts. Last year we cleared the site from lot’s of uninteresting information and made what was happening on SFP the most important thing. In the summer of 2009 we update our site again and bring the focus to you the visitor and submittor. We no longer limit you to only podcast, we allow you to send small text messages, blog posts and maybe even more. Not in diffecult tabs to open, just one click scenarioes. With this and much more communication functions comming to Sports Fan Podcasts, we are sure to be alot more interesting by this summer.
